Our mission is to improve health, decrease healing time, and give relief by stimulating the body’s natural recovery mechanisms.

EquineLight™ is a company located in California’s Bay Area dedicated to providing non-invasive advanced light therapy to equines and other large animals.

Our affiliates include PetLight, for small animals, and LightMD, Inc., for humans. The EquineLight™ system is the equine version of LightMD’s patented phototherapy (or light therapy) system. Using both red and infrared light, our therapy is non-invasive and naturally stimulates healing through the use of hundreds of superluminous diodes (SLDs). These SLDs are then mounted in aseptic polymetric pads that provide high flexibility to ensure comfort to your equine.

The difference in power versus other commercial light therapy systems is comparable to a bright 100W lightbulb against a dim 20W reading light. Research shows that living cells in the body are able to absorb light and convert them into energy. When this happens, it triggers an increase of cellular activity and beneficially drives metabolism.

EquineLight therapy works by regenerating damaged cells using advanced technology to deliver the maximum amount of visible red and infrared light stimulation to a specific area. The photons in SLD light therapy are absorbed through the skin and stimulate:

Release of ATP energy
Formation on new capillaries to increase circulation and carry away cellular waste
Collagen synthesis
Release of endorphins and serotonin
RNA and DNA synthesis to replace or heal damaged cells

Dressage

Sumi

Sumi, a 12 year old Westfalen dressage competitor, developed acute laminitis and was on the verge of foundering in August 2015. Using EquineLight’s SLD red light and infrared wavelengths, Sumi was treated every one to two days for 30-40 minutes. From the first treatment she responded positively with lip licking and neck stretching. After six sessions, her vet cleared her to being training.

Aryton

Shortly after Aryton, a nine year old Oldenburg gelding, arrived at his new barn, he showed signs of lameness. For weeks later, this Developing Young Horse began rearing and bucking under saddle. Veterinary diagnosis shows a level 4 high suspensory tear on his right hind and three smaller suspensory tears (four total). On his vet’s recommendation he received five weeks of EquineLight therapy followed by a stem cell treatment. The subsequent RMI and ultrasound showed that the largest tear had been reduced to a level 1. Aryton is back in training and continues weekly EquineLight treatments for maintenance.

Forjatt

Forjatt developed EIPH (exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage). Drug laws in UAE prevented his trainer from using traditional US methods to control the condition. After six treatments over a one week period, Forjatt was cleared to race and won the Group 3 Jebel Ali Mile Stakes. Forjatt remains free of EIPH.
